U19 Rugby Lose Out In Athy

Our U19 Rugby team took on Ardscoil na Trionoide, Athy in the Leinster Development Cup Round 2 in Athy RFC on November 24.

The match started off well with both sides showing dominance. After winning a number of battles, Patricians scored a deserved try by Jack Moore. But a short time later, the opposition broke through our defence and reclaimed a score with again no conversion.

The rest of the half played out with no score, leaving it 5-5 at half-time.

Patricians went into the second half hopeful, but with an early try from Ardscoil, spirits dropped. Some time passed with no score until the opposition broke through again.

Then with a try from Adam Meehan, the Patricians were optimistic of finishing strongly. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time for the Patricians to equalise and Ardscoil advanced to the quarter-final.  We now focus on the shield.
