On Monday September 25, principals from the five Patrician Secondary Schools in Sydney, Australia visited the school.

Led by our old friend, Santo Passarello – principal of Patrician Brothers’ College in Blacktown – who was on his 3rd visit to the school and Superior General of the Patrician Order, Bro. Peter Ryan, the group are in Ireland on an Immersion Tour to connect with Patrician ethos from an Irish viewpoint.

The group – which also includes principals from Delany College; All Saints Liverpool; Holy Cross College & Patrician Brothers’ College, Fairfield – will spend the coming week travelling to the Patrician school in Galway – the Bish – and the founding place of the Patrician order, Tullow, Co. Carlow before returning home.

Upon arrival in Newbridge, they were welcomed by Principal Pat O’Leary and the School Captain, Elliot Nolan, who spoke so eloquently before entertaining the visitors with his version of ‘Songbird’.  The choir led by Ms Clare Molloy then sang “St Patrick’s Breastplate” – the mission statement of the Patricians, before Kyle Dunne and PJ O’Neill brought the welcome to a close.

Presentations and thanks were made by both the Australian visitors and Newbridge hosts.

We wish our fellow Patricians a safe and enjoyable trip for the rest of their stay in Ireland.
