Sports Awards 2019

Kilkenny hurling legend, Richie Power was special guest at our Annual Sports Awards, which took place in the Gym on Wednesday, May 22. The awards sponsored by EMS Copiers, with additional support from Newbridge RFC & TJ Carroll of CCUSA.

The eight-time winner of Liam MacCarthy, was on hand to impart some solid advice about team-work & commitment, and present the numerous awards.

Muiris Curtin claimed the Sportsperson of the Year award for his contribution to teams in the school, playing on Gaelic, Hurling & Soccer teams in his time here. His achievement of playing on both County Minor Football & Hurling teams last year was noted.

The Junior Sportsperson of the Year is Alex O’Shea – who earlier in the school year claimed Silver at the All-Ireland Combined events, before being part of the Irish team to also win Silver at the European Championships in Glasgow.

The Sports Leadership Award went to Mark Browne. Mark also received €50 voucher of a J1 visa & a hoodie courtesy of past pupil TJ Carroll of CCUSA.

Oisin Michel won the Jamie Donohoe Perpetual Memorial Cup for his exploits in Rugby in the past year.
