Well done to Breda Disney and our First year maths students who competed in the Midlands Region IMTA Comortas All-Ireland maths competition. It is an individual competition and we were first, second, fourth, fifth and eight. We are awaiting the results from Dublin, Cork, Galway etc to see how we did nationally.

Dear Principal, staff and students,

This just a short, and belated note, from David Rudisha and myself extending our most sincere thanks and appreciation to you for the tremendous welcome and kind hospitality you showed us during our visit to your school. It was indeed an experience for me personally to go back to where I once thought, and indeed took my first steps in the teaching and coaching 'profession'. And also to give David the opportunity to see where I'd lived and worked before coming to Kenya

.

It was an honour for us to be able to address the staff, students and other guests and also to see the tremendous progress the school has made over the years, in the beautiful facilities you have, as well as the academic, sporting and other co-curricula activities and achievements in the school. It's a credit to all involved and am proud of my association with your school.

Aside from his sporting achievements, David is a humble and a special person, a great 'ambassador' for his country. He's a committed and focused young man, speaks from the heart and is a role model for our youth. For me, he's a privilege to work with and the dream of any coach. He leaves this week for Barcelona to attend the IAAF Gala where he has been short-listed for the Award of 'World Athlete of the Year' - an award he won in 2010. David was very impressed by the reception he got in your school and we wished we had more time to spend with you.,

Many thanks for the memento's of the school which you presented to us and wishing Patrician Secondary, Newbridge every success.

Asante sana ('thank you' - kiswhali)

Kind Regards

Colm
