The Debating Club enjoyed many rigorous debates this year during their weekly lunchtime meetings in Room 39. Topical motions debated included the school curriculum, vegan diets, government funding for sports facilities and mandatory extracurricular activities.
In March the Senior Debaters visited Griffith College for the annual Law Department School Debating Competition where we went up against CBC Kilkenny. We enjoyed a healthy debate on smartphone bans in schools.
Meanwhile, the Junior Debaters celebrated Europe Day participating in an enjoyable mock EU parliament meeting in Naas Community College.
